Tolland County is best place to raise a family in Conn.

TOLLAND COUNTY, Conn. (WTNH) – Good news if you live or plan on moving to Tolland County, it’s been ranked the best county in the state to raise your children.

The “Equality of Opportunity Project” by Harvard University found that crime, income and race segregation, income inequality, education, and two-parent households have the greatest effect on the well-being of a child later in life.

The Hartford Courant reports living in Tolland County gives kids the biggest financial boost.

For example, a child who grows up there in a lower-income house will be making almost $4,000 more a year than a peer who grew up in similar circumstances in another county.
