(WTNH/ABC)– The FBI is looking into whether or not a computer security expert hacked into a commercial plane.
The hacker claims he took control of the plane by hacking into the airliner’s in-flight entertainment system, briefly making the plane fly sideways.
Officials told ABC News there is no evidence that a hacker could gain control of an airliner in the way hacker Chris Roberts described.
Meanwhile an ABC News aviation consultant says it’s possible for someone to hack into a plane and insert bad data, but it doesn’t seem likely that someone could take control of the plane itself.
United Airlines also commented, saying Roberts’ claims are unfounded.
