Plans for apartments in former Harold’s Bridal Shop

After 70 years, iconic New Haven formal wear store Harold's has closed their doors (WTNH)

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– A five story apartment house could be built in New Haven at the former sight of a well-known formal shop.

The New Haven Register reports that a development company plans to turn the Harold’s Bridal shop location on Elm Street into a 46 unit apartment complex. That piece of property is right across from us here at News 8.

In addition to the apartments, the proposal from MOD Equities calls for retail space to be development on the ground floor.

Harold’s closed in January after 70 years at that Elm Street location.
