Wicked Cyclone Opens, News 8’s Stephanie Simoni Went for a Ride

News 8's Stephanie Simoni goes for a ride on the 'Wicked Cyclone' at Six Flags New England (WTNH)

AGAWAM, Mass. (WTNH) — The new ride at Six Flags, Wicked Cyclone, is a hand-holding scream out loud experience.

It’s a marriage of two rides; an old classic wood coaster with steel-coaster technology.

“So we could combine the elements of both types of rides into one amazing thrill ride,” said the Dir. of Operations for Six Flags Peter Carmichael. “I really think it’s going to be the best new attraction we’ve had in several years.”

It starts like a classic wood ride with a steep, stomach dropping 109 foot hill.  Then for an intense minute and a half you feel the steel technology as it takes you through cork screws and 2 zero G rolls. It gives you the sensation of weightlessness.

Carter, 8, has been on 87 rides and skipped school to come out to the park today. She even says she’d like to be a professional roller-coaster rider one day.

So Carter joined News 8’s Stephanie Simoni for to try out the new ride at Six Flags.

Check out the video to see how it went.
