AUSTIN (KXAN) — Thursday at the state Capitol, lawmakers are preparing to honor a North Texas high school senior for his extraordinary achievement. Joshua Chari, 16, earned three associate degrees while he was a junior and five more while he was a senior.
Chari is a student at Lloyd V. Berkner High School Academy in the Dallas suburb of Richardson. He got his associate degrees from Richland College, a community college in Dallas.
His degrees are in liberal sciences, computer science, electrical, mechanical, biomedical, telecommunications, software and computer engineering and mechanical engineering.
Chari started taking college credit classes in the seventh grade, and he plans to attend the University of Texas in Dallas in the fall.
