From Record Cold Tonight to A Heatwave Next Week

Some fast weather pattern changes expected over the next 5 to 10 days. Here are your weather headlines:

* Sun and a few clouds today

* A strong cold front will cross the state early to mid-afternoon

* The wind will pick up all of a sudden with gusts to 35 mph

* A brief shower possible, but most areas stay dry

* A quick shot of cold air comes in tonight through Saturday morning

* The standing record lows are 42 in 1963 shoreline and 37 in 1976 inland Saturday morning

* There is a good chance for tying the low temperature at the shoreline and breaking the record inland

* Cover plants or bring them in tonight

* The chill will go away quickly Saturday morning with sunshine and temperatures rising quickly

* 60s for Saturday and sunny 70s Sunday

* A brief shower possible Monday in a few spots

* I would have a back-up indoor plan in place but consider you may not have to use it

* There are strong signs for heating building across the Northeast next week

* High humidity too from Tuesday through Friday

* Get your air conditioner ready this weekend!!!!!!!

Have a safe Memorial Day Weekend & remember those who have given the ultimate sacrifice!
