Man arrested in connection with East Hampton assault

EAST HAMPTON, Conn. (WTNH) — State Police have arrested a man in connection with a violent assault and home invasion at White Birch Farm in East Hampton last September.

Matthew M. Frick, 28, of Portland, was arrested Thursday after a lengthy investigation by the Eastern District Major Crime Squad and the East Hampton Police Department.

Police were called to 183 White Birch Rd. on Sept. 16, 2014 and found 58-year-old Lisa Rader with life-threatening injuries. Rader was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Hartford.

Police say they identified Frick as a suspect and obtained a warrant by the Middletown Superior Court.

At 6:40 p.m. Thursday, police took Frick into custody at his home and brought him to Troop K in Colchester, where he is being held on $250,000 bond.

Frick is being charged with aiding and abetting to first-degree assault, aiding and abetting to commit home invasion and aiding and abetting to commit burglary in the first-degree.

He is due in Middletown Superior Court today.
