Granby man dies in head-on collision

GRANBY, Conn. (WTNH) — A 71-year-old Granby man is dead after accident in town Friday afternoon.

Police say at about 4:40 p.m., Anthony Mazziotti was driving north on Route 10 near Rickwood Lane when he collided with a minivan traveling southbound. They say LifeStar was requested, but could not fly because of high winds. Mazziotti died at Hartford Hospital.

According to authorities, the driver of the minivan, 45-year-old Natalie Lynch of Southwick, Mass., was taken to St. Francis Hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.

Route 10 was closed in the area for much of Friday night.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call Granby police at (860) 844-5335.
