New Britain man arrested in connection to Avon bank robbery

AVON, Conn. (WTNH) — A New Britain man is in police custody in connection to a bank robbery that happened in Avon.

On Sunday, May 17 the TD Bank on West Main Street in Avon was robbed by a man who showed a handgun. Police from several communities worked with the local FBI office to investigate that robbery, and another one that happened Saturday, May 23 at the Northwest Community Bank on Simsbury Road.

Police ended up arresting Patryk Kornas, 40, of New Britain for his involvement in the TD Bank robbery and drug charges. He’s being held on $500,000 surety bond. Police say more charges could be coming.
