BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) – The city of Bridgeport has a new charging station for electric vehicles. The Mayor today announced the opening of Bridgeport’s second electric vehicle charging station located at State and John Streets.

Mayor Bill Finch says this is an effort to beat back carbon emissions in the state’s largest city. He says “this investment is an important part of growing our green economy and creating green jobs at the same time we are giving our families a clean, safe place to live for generations to come.”

Recently the Governor announced an electric vehicle incentive program allowing consumers to claim rebates on the purchase or lease of an electric vehicle.
