PUTNAM, Conn. (WTNH) — Putnam police have busted a man for allegedly selling heroin.

Officers were checking out some railroad tracks near Providence Street Monday when they saw three people trespassing. They all ran, but cops caught up with Jamie Field, who they say began throwing $1,000 bags of heroin as he tried to run away.

Police said when they caught up to him, he was still carrying six bags of heroin, and about four thousand dollars in cash. Field now faces several charges, including possession with intent to sell.
