Meriden police make arrest in April killing

MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) – Meriden police have made an arrest in a shooting death in April.  Esteban Jimenez turned himself in Monday.  Police say on April 4th, Jimenez was at a party at 32 Cook Avenue with Victor Nina, 32.  Police were called to the scene around 4:45 a.m. after someone heard a gunshot.  They found Nina, who lived in the apartment building with a bullet wound in the chest. He was later pronounced dead.  Neighbors say it happened after a night of partying.

Jimenez is charged with Manslaughter in the First Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Reckless Endangerment, Unlawful Discharge, and Carrying a Pistol Without a Permit.  He’s being held on $100,000 bond and is due in court on June 9th.
