NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Achievement First Amistad High School held a special dedication Thursday at its new state-of-the-art building in New Haven.
The high-performing, college preparatory public charter high school is part of a $35 million construction project, transforming the long-vacant Martin Luther King School into Amistad’s new campus on Dixwell Avenue.
“All students deserve a building that will help fulfill our dreams of college, career, and a lifetime opportunity.”
Recently, U.S. News & World Report recognized Amistad as the number two high school in Connecticut in its “Best High Schools” rankings. Amistad High’s graduating class had a 100-percent college acceptance rate.
