Connecticut National Guardsman arrested on child pornography charges

EAST HAMPTON, Conn. (WTNH)– A Connecticut National Guardsman was arrested by federal officials Wednesday for allegedly producing child pornography.

According to a press release, 45-year-old Keith Haessly, of East Hampton, was arrested after an investigation that began from a criminal complaint in January. The investigation determined that Haessly was sending pictures of child pornography over the Internet, and took part in numerous sexually explicit chats about sexual exploitation of young boys.

Federal officials also said that Haessly posed as a female named “Amy Finch”, and used looped recordings to entice young boys into sexual activity over video chat programs, in which he recorded.

Haessly was arrested while at work. Officials also took his laptop from his home for evidence.

A spokesperson for the Connecticut National Guard has confirmed to News 8 that Haessly is a guardsman. The spokesperson said the National Guard is fully cooperating with the investigation.
