HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Senator Chris Murphy believes Connecticut is ready for Hillary.

In a statement released early Thursday morning, Murphy endorsed the former Secretary of State’s run for President, saying, “… I know that she will be the most effective fighter for struggling families in Connecticut.”

Murphy commended Clinton’s campaign strategy of interacting with average American citizens.

“She has spent time in the highest echelons of government, but she understands that families in America today are struggling to pay all their bills and save for college and retirement while wages seem stuck in neutral,” explains Murphy.

Murphy has also previously expressed support for Clinton’s experience with issues of foreign policy. He echoes those thoughts in this statement, noting, “I’m also confident that she understands, better than any other candidate, how a balanced approach between hard and soft power is the best way to protect America from developing threats overseas.”

Now, the Democratic Senator is highlighting his party’s presidential hopeful’s potential to affect policy at home in the United States.

He encourages his constituents to vote for Clinton by affirming, “Hillary is a fighter – and that’s what our country and families in Connecticut need right now. I’m proud to support her. I’m all in.”
