Help Support CT Post Photographer Battling Cancer

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) – Staffers at the Connecticut Post are hoping to raise money to help a colleague who has been battling cancer.

Ned Gerard is a photographer at the CT Post. He was diagnosed with leukemia in the Fall and has undergone chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant. His cancer is now in remission, but his colleagues say he won’t be cleared to return to work until the end of the year. They’re hoping to help raise money to support him during his time of recovery.

Calling themselves the ‘Friends of Ned Gerard,’ his colleagues are hosting a big fundraiser for him on Tuesday, June 9 at the Bijou Theater in Bridgeport. The theater is located at 275 Fairfield Avenue. Tickets are $30 and the event goes from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.

There will be live music and a silent auction. For more information on the event and how you can donate – and to get a sneak peak at some of the auction items – head to the Friends of Ned Gerard Facebook page.
