Second arrest made after East Hampton woman assaulted

East Hampton, Conn. (WTNH)-Detectives for the State Police Major Crime Squad have helped the East Hampton Police Department investigating a serious assault on a woman.

A woman was found severely beaten on White Birch Road in September of 2014. 

She had injuries to the head and was rushed to the hospital to undergo emergency surgery for life threatening injuries. After a long investigation, authorities developed a suspect and applied for an arrest warrant for Matthew Frick. After arresting Frick, they developed that another party may have been involved and applied for a warrant for their arrest.

On June 5th, 2015, police then arrested James McMahon of Southington.  McMahon is now facing charges of criminal attempt to commit murder, assault, and home invasion to name a few.

McMahon is currently being held on a $1 million dollar bond.  He is due in court June 8th, 2015.
