Felon charged in 2010 Bridgeport murder

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — A 32-year-old man is charged in a Bridgeport homicide that happened nearly five years ago.

Police say Billy Ray Jones fatally shot 29-year-old Michael Williams in the playground area behind Building 4 of Greene Homes on June 21, 2010. He was served a warrant in court on Friday.

Jones is charged with murder, criminal possession of a firearm, and carrying a pistol without a permit. His bond was set at $1 million.

The convict was already incarcerated in Connecticut. In 2011, he was sentenced to seven years behind bars for possession with intent to sell/dispense by non-drug-dependent person.
