NEW HAVEN, Conn.  (WTNH) — Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro awarded a North Haven business with a prestigious award on Monday.

DeLauro presented Precision Combustion with the U.S. SBA Tibbetts Award, which is only given to small businesses who really show their overwhelming contribution to the local economy and employment rate. The Tibbetts Award honors small businesses who “exemplify the best” in their particular area of concentration.

Precision Combustion, Inc. is a company specifically geared towards helping to invent new methods of reducing carbon footprint and eliminating pollution in the air. It currently holds over 80 different patents and employs nearly 35 local people.

The local business was among 23 small businesses across the country to receive the award. In October, Precision was also given a grant to invent a generator specifically focusing on removing toxic chemicals used in farming.
