WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 95 southbound in West Haven slowed down commuters Monday morning.

The crash occurred just after 5:30 a.m. on the southbound side of the roadway between exits 44 and 43. The truck crashed into a guardrail and began to go over it. The guardrail prevented the truck from going down an embankment.

State Police tell News 8 that no one was injured in the crash. Troopers spent almost two hours investigating while emergency crews worked to clear the accident. It is unclear what may have caused the crash.

Traffic was backed up through West Haven and into the Long Wharf section of New Haven. The accident was cleared by 7:45 a.m.
