New Haven, Conn. (WTNH) – Police are investigating after a man was stabbed in the buttocks.   Officers were dispatched to Yale-New Haven Hospital after staff there reported that a man had been stabbed and was asking for help.  When officers arrived, they say the victim, 22-year-old Sidney Smith first told them that he just sat on a piece of glass.  Upon further questioning, Smith changed his story saying that he was in a fight with a man who stabbed him.  He said it all went down on Liberty Street and Carlisle Street.

Detectives went to the neighborhood and talked with people in the area.  The neighbors they spoke with say they had not seen or heard of any altercation all day long.  When Smith was questioned again, he then told police that the incident occurred in the Church Street South housing complex.  Detectives again found no witnesses or evidence and Smith isn’t naming his attacker.
