Mystic Blues Festival to benefit hospice care

MYSTIC, Conn. (WTNH) — The sounds of blues will soon fill the air in Mystic. The third annual Mystic Blues Festival launches its unique blend of blues and roots-based music at the Mystic Shipyard.

This year, the festival has been designated as a charitable organization. All proceeds will benefit the Center for Hospice Care in Norwich.

In between every act, student musicians will perform.

“We’re encouraging local folks to not just get in to not just the idea of the festival, but this idea that music is for learning and that blues music in particular is an American art form, it’s worth preserving, it’s worth studying,” said Amy Leigh. “We also are very passionate about supporting the Center for Hospice Care in Norwich.”

The Mystic Blues Festival begins Friday, June 26 and continues through that weekend.
