Burglar breaks $2,800 door at Milford business, takes $5.58 worth of soda

MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A Bridgeport man broke a Milford business’s door, valued at $2,800, to take two bottles of soda early Thursday, police say.

According to authorities, 21-year-old David Lopez broke the door, then took two two-liter bottles, valued at $5.58, from Napoli Deli around 1:10 a.m. They say a burglar alarm went off and he was caught downtown.

The Sylvan Avenue man is charged with second-degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny, and first-degree criminal mischief. His bond was set at $25,000.
