CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Jeb Bush is canceling his visit to Charleston after the shooting that killed nine people at a historic black church.
The former Florida governor had planned to hold a town hall for veterans on Thursday at the Charleston Maritime Center. Authorities are now using that venue for briefings about the church shooting on Wednesday night during a Bible study.
Bush has been hitting other early voting states including New Hampshire and Iowa this week after formally announcing his decision to run on Monday.
His son, George P. Bush, is making several appearances in Nevada this week on behalf of the campaign.
