WTNH — Today Ryan sits down with Dr. Beth Collins and discusses the issues men face in the summer if they experience Gynecomastia or in simple terms, man boobs. Upwards of one third of the male population are faced with this problem and it usually occurs in the adolescence part of life or in between the ages of 50-70 years old. This is usually a natural occurrence where a male has extra breast tissue but sometimes Gynecomastia is caused certain medications, Testicular Cancer, or hormones fluctuating. The positive thing about this is that the surgery is relatively safe one where they make a small incision under the nipple to take out extra tissue and this procedure results in only a week or two recovery period. Dr. Beth Collins said she can see dramatic changes in self confidence after her patiences have been through the surgery.
