Waterbury Fire Sends 6 Firefighters to Local Hospital

WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — Six Waterbury firefighters were treated for injuries after battling a blaze Thursday morning.

Shortly before 9:00 a.m., Waterbury police and firefighters responded to a call regarding a fire on Pearl Lake Road near Sylvan and East Mountain Road. Upon arrival, fire crews found the home fully engulfed in flames.

Fire officials tell News 8 that six firefighters were injured while trying to put out the fire. They were all taken to area hospitals for treatment. Four of the six have since been discharged.

Officials have yet to release the names of the homeowners or the cause of the fire, but have confirmed that no civilians were injured. They are continuing their investigation.
