Stratford man dead after car crash in Derby

DERBY, Conn. (WTNH) — A 33-year-old Stratford man is dead after an accident on Route 8 in Derby early Saturday morning.

State police say Anthony Delbene was traveling south near exit 17 around 2:30 a.m. when his Chevy Silverado went off the right shoulder, hit a metal guardrail, and then a tree. They say the truck sustained extensive damage to its front end, undercarriage, and interior.

According to officials, the Emerson Drive man was the only person involved in the accident.

The crash is still under investigation.
