Despite rain, annual Father’s Day Road Race goes on in Branford

BRANFORD, Conn. (WTNH)–Rainy weather didn’t stop runners in Branford on Sunday morning, as an estimated 3,000 laced up for the 35th annual Branford Father’s Day Road Race.

It started with kids on their one-mile fun run. News 8 later caught up with some people on the two-mile health walk.

“It was fantastic. I ran into people I know but haven’t seen. Saw baby pictures. It was a great walk,” said Kathy Canny of Branford.

“Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there,” said walker Tyler Greco. “We’re enjoying the race. The rain held up, which was beautiful.”
