Danbury man allegedly choked, punched woman during road rage

DANBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — A Danbury man is accused of choking and punching a woman during a road rage incident Sunday afternoon.

Police say 21-year-old Marcos Marte-Nunez sped past the unidentified victim as she was backing out of a parking spot at the Danbury Mall, then rolled his window down and yelled a derogatory word at her. They say Marte-Nunez followed the victim on Segar Street, causing her to throw iced tea at him.

According to authorities, when the two were stopped at a light on Lake Avenue near Segar Steet, Marte-Nunez got out of his car, opened the victim’s door, choked her, and punched her several times.

Officials did not provide what crimes Marte-Nunez is charged with.
