North Branford, Conn. (WTNH) – Police in North Branford say they got a call to their Communications Center with a report that people were seriously hurt and others in potential danger. The NBPD immediately responded to the call which was located at a multi-tenant complex.  More assistance was given and a total of seven municipal agencies responded to the call, including the Regional SWAT team.

Upon further investigation, and determining that the residents were all safe, police say the incident was unfounded.  They are now looking into it as a “swatting” call.  Those are cases when someone calls police that there is an imminent threat, but it is all a hoax.  Right now investigators are trying to determine if this is one of those cases.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is being asked to call the  North Branford Police Department at 203-484-2703. All information will be kept confidential.
