Man charged in death of Norwich woman

NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH) — Norwich Police have arrested a man who they say is responsible for killing a 25-year-old woman in her apartment.

On June 15th, Norwich Police were called to 16 Spaulding Street to investigate a suspicious death. On scene, police identified the victim as 25-year-old Casey Chadwick.

Police ruled Chadwick’s death a homicide.

On June 25th, Police arrested Jean Jacques, 40, of Norwich, on a signed arrest warrant.

Jacques is being charged with murder and is held on a $1 million dollar court set bond.

He is due in Norwich Superior Court today.

The Norwich Police Detective and Patrol Divisions, the CT State Police Major Crime Squad, the New London County State’s Attorney’s Office, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and the State of CT, Division of Scientific Services all assisted in the investigation.
