Man Arrested After A Woman Is Shot in the Face

West Haven, Conn. (WTNH) – Police have arrested a man after a woman was shot in the face, but they haven’t pinned the shooting on him.  Around 7p.m. on Sunday police say a 19-year-old woman was shot just below her eye with either a pellet or BB gun. This all happened on Meadowbrook Court.

She was taken to the hospital, where police interviewed her.  She told cops that she was in a vehicle with two other women and a man, when another car pulled along side theres.  The second car had three men in it, and some sort of argument started up.  One of the men in the second car shot twice and the first car. The teen was hit on the second shot.

After investigating, police caught up with the the registered owner of the second vehicle, 29-year-old Laele Overton. While he was not identified as the shooter, he was arrested on drug related charges including possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to sell. Police are still trying to figure out who was responsible for opening fire.
