HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– Truck drivers hauling through Connecticut will now feel less impact on their wallets, with diesel fuel costs improving as of midnight Monday night.
Diesel fuel is guaranteed to drop more than 4 cents per gallon. This, after the state’s department of revenues services released its numbers for the year.
The tax will decrease from 54.5 cents to 50.3 cents a gallon. Truck drivers traveling through our state say they couldn’t be happier.
“It’s a great thing… they’re the highest prices in the country, pretty much. I ride up and down and the east coast all the time and I gotta buy fuel to keep the fuel tax,” said a truck driver.
Because the cost of diesel fuel was significantly lower this past year than usual, the calculation resulted in a drop in the tax.
