OITNB Star Germer Terrell Gardner

WTNH– Ryan sits down with Bridgeport native and former WTNH employee Germer Terrell Gardner, who stars in the Netflix hit series “Orange is the New Black”. Germer discusses how he started off here at WTNH at the assignment desk, which taught him how to deal with stress, and eventually moved into production where he operated on cameras. Germer says he always wanted to be an actor but it just never seemed obtainable. In 2007 he was part here and at a school where he got laid off but received an e mail from an acting seminar and said why not. His acting coach was Alan Gordon in Greenwich Village, New York.

Germer’s brother told him about the show Orange is the New Black and that he had to watch it but he never got around to it until his acting coach called him to tell him that he has an audition for the show the next day. Germer says he stayed up all night watching the show and didn’t get any sleep the day of the audition but still landed the role. Now he is doing great and just got booked for a film that shoots in Atlantic City.
