Single-Family Home Sales Up, Prices Down in Connecticut

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH)- Good news for anyone buying or selling a house in Connectiuct, sales on single-family homes and condos continue to rise. A new report from The Warren Group shows a gain in sales in May, for the fourth consecutive month.


Here’s a look at the numbers: In May, 2,357 single-family houses were sold, which is 13.8 percent more than May of 2014. And, year-to-date sales also went up by 9.3 percent.

And for buyers there is good news too, the cost of homes seems to be down. The median price of a single-family home fell by about 0.3 percent in May. The median price for a home in Connecticut is $265,000.

Sales of Condominium’s are also seeing an increase. They went up 1.5 percent in May, and 7.4 percent year-to-date.
