What’s Brewing: June 30

WTNH– Ryan and filing in for Teresa, Marysol Castro, host today’s CT style. The moment we’ve all been waiting for…Teresa finally had her baby, Dontae Dufor, at 5 p.m. yesterday and he was 6 lbs and change. We recognize fans of the day Alfio Tulliano and Marie Pita from Greenwich, CT. Studies show that the average American throws away $640 worth of food a year and only half of the population feels bad because of world hunger.

A new invention called the “Roost” is a wifi battery for your smoke alarm that notifies your smart phone when it needs to be changed so you don’t have to deal with that pesky beeping in the middle of the night. Replacement batteries are only $15 and will be sold in September. Google is currently in the process of making a cardiac sensor wristband that lets doctors check your vital signs remotely and this wristband measures the electrical pull of your heart and skin temperature.

Need vegetation control? A farmer purchased a goat to eat over grown grass and evasive planets. Are there other life forms out there? Cerise, a dwarf planet in our solar system, had pictures taken of it showing signs of a 3 mile high pyramid on it.
