HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A felon was arrested when a stolen, loaded gun was found in his car after an accident in Hartford around 2:45 p.m. Friday.

Police say 32-year-old Alexis Lopez appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol after the crash in the area of Woodland Street and Albany Avenue. They say he argued with responding firefighters, refused to exit his vehicle, and tried to drive away.

The Bloomfield man is charged with theft of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, having a weapon in a motor vehicle, interfering with police, and following too closely.
