Iron Cowboy completes challenge in Norwalk for childhood obesity

NORWALK, Conn. (WTNH)–  He’s been dubbed the Iron Cowboy traveling to all 50 states.

James Lawrence hit the pool early in Norwalk Sunday morning. That’s because he’s bouncing state to state completing iron mans that consists of a 2.4 mile swim,  112 mile bike ride and a full marathon 26. 2 miles.

You have 17 hours to complete the challenge. All of it is to raise awareness for a good cause.

“We’re partnering with the Jamie Oliver Foundation to support childhood obesity. I’ve got five young kids ages 5-12. I’m very busy in their school system, I participate a lot. It’s apparent it’s a huge problem,” said Lawrence.

They started in Hawaii and Connecticut is the 30th state he’ll cross off his list.
