HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH)– Police have recovered a “vehicle of interest” that may be connected to the bizarre situation in Hamden, where a body was found near the site of an explosion Saturday.
Police are now on the hunt for two men they say are involved. As of Sunday evening, police were still on scene on Wintergreen Avenue in Hamden.
Investigators tell News 8 that a “vehicle of interest” has been recovered and they’re still looking into whether it was connected to the incident.
The work Sunday continues with both state police and Hamden police investigating. A much smaller section of the roadway is closed down, which was different than Saturday.
Police say around 11 a.m. on the Fourth of July, a body wrapped in plastic was found near the site of an explosive devise. There’s evidence to suggest that devise went off.
It’s hard to miss if you come down there and people who’ve visited the area are talking about it.
“Just numb… Must of gotten in somebody’s bad side,” said Mark Briscoe, who used to live in neighborhood.
Police are searching for two people that were scene in the area at the time the explosion was heard. Police think they were in a gold or yellow Nissan Altima with a Florida license plate, last digit ending in 9.
Anyone with information is urged to call Hamden police at (203) 230-4000.
