NEW YORK CITY (WTNH) — To say Windsor Locks native Shawn Booth and his fiancee, Kaitlyn Bristowe, are overtired is an understatement. They took the red eye from California to New York City Monday night, then they went on Good Morning America Tuesday. After that they did “about 87 interviews,” Bristowe said jokingly. Their last one of the day was with News 8.
How excited are they to finally to tell people they are together?
“We’ve been waiting patiently,” said Bristowe.
“Counting down the hours every Monday after an episode airs,” added Booth. “Like, nine more Mondays, eight more Mondays, so it’s finally here and we’re very excited.”
The couples engagement was revealed on “The Bachelorette” season finale Monday night. Though Booth now lives in Nashville, he says they plan to visit Connecticut very soon.

“I need to meet some more people, your niece and nephew,” said Bristowe.
“A lot of people we want to meet and hang out with, so that’s what we’re going to be doing for the next couple of months,” said Booth.
We also got a look at that engagement ring, which is nearly three-and-a-half carats.

“There were about six rings and my eye went right to this one,” said Booth. “I just kind of knew it, just went with my gut, and I figured that was the one. It’s perfect.”
“Even when I was watching on TV, the rings, I was like, no, no, no, no, yeah,” added Bristowe, obviously happy with the choice.
Despite the newly engaged couple’s long day, they were gracious enough to do our interview because Booth wanted to make sure his home state of Connecticut was covered.
