(WTNH)– Connecticut’s very own Shawn Booth won the heart of Kaitlyn Bristowe on Monday night’s season finale of The “Bachelorette.”
The 29-year-old personal trainer from Windsor Locks proposed to the 30-year-old former dance instructor after she gave him the final rose on the ABC dating show’s finale. Bristowe of course said yes, telling Booth that he lights her up, makes her laugh and most importantly, allows her to be herself.
Booth’s dad, Steve Booth, described his son to News 8 as ” very genuine. What you see is what you get.”
Booth said “I feel like the happiest guy in the world!” after getting engaged to Bristowe.
Bristowe chose Booth after breaking it off with runner up Nick Viall, who was also runner-up on last year’s season of “The Bachelorette” with Andi Dorfman.
With that tense breakup and all the criticism Bristowe received throughout the season, the Bachelorette says it was all worth it now that she found Booth. Both Booth and Bristowe are excited to go on living a normal life now that they can be seen in public together.
Booth isn’t the only Connecticut native making a name for himself on a reality show. Guilford’s Nick Fradiani made headlines when he became the newest American Idol earlier this year. Since his win, Fradiani has recently released a music video for his song “Beautiful Life.”
