Ledyard man seriously injured in accident, flown to hospital

LEDYARD, Conn. (WTNH) — A Ledyard man was flown to the hospital with serious injuries after an accident in town around noon Thursday.

State police say 24-year-old Jeremy Traxler was riding a moped on Route 117 when he crossed paths with a car at the intersection of Village Drive. They say the Hickory Drive man suffered a serious head injury and was flown to Hartford Hospital via LifeStar. Hartford Hospital says he is in intensive care, but did not give his condition.

According to authorities, the driver of the car, 25-year-old Sean Peavey, was not injured.

Ledyard police are investigating the crash.
