Man wanted for West Hartford bank robbery

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — West Hartford police are looking for the man who robbed a bank around 2 p.m. Thursday.

Officials say the approximately 40-year-old white man went in the TD Bank at 143 South Main Street and showed a note demanding money. They say he was given cash, then fled.

Police describe the suspect as a 5’8″ to 5’10” tall, tan man with a slender build and very short, dark brown hair. They say he wore a blue polo shirt with a white emblem on his left side chest, and white golf shorts with large checkered stripes through them.

Later Thursday, around 4:45 p.m., the First Niagara Bank at 55 South Main Street was also robbed. Police haven’t determined if the two robberies are connected.
