Groton police officer helps save life

Groton, Conn. (WTNH) -A Groton police officer living up to the title of hero Friday morning.

Police say officer Eric Korteweg was called to a house on High Street to deal with a medical emergency. When he got there, the victim was unresponsive, showing no sign of a pulse.

Police say officer Korteweg acted quickly, using a defibrillator to stablize the person until EMS crews got to the scene. The person was then rushed to a nearby medical facility for further treatment.
