LITCHFIELD, Conn. (AP) — A Torrington man has been sentenced to four years in prison for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.
Robert Doyle was also sentenced in Litchfield Superior Court to serve seven years of special parole in connection with the July 2014 assault.
The Republican-American (http://bit.ly/1Pc5VK3 ) reports that the 27-year-old Doyle at first denied the charged but then agreed to a deal to avoid trial.
Authorities say Doyle assaulted the girl during a party at which the victim drank alcohol.
The victim’s parents said in court that they have seen a change in their daughter. She used to be outgoing and happy, but is now introverted and her school work has suffered.
