Willimantic man facing multiple charges after domestic dispute

Javier Davila

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. (WTNH) — 36-year-old Javier Davila of Willimantic heads to court on Friday after a domestic dispute.

Davila was arrested at an apartment on West Avenue when he destroyed property belonging to his girlfriend, while threatening to kill her. He then identified himself by an alias to police, which turned out to be his brother.

Investigation revealed that this same male had also stabbed himself in the hand with an electrician’s electrical tester, and then tried reporting that he had been stabbed by his girlfriend.

When Davila was in police custody at Willimantic Police Headquarters, he had a violent episode in a holding cell. When the police officer attempted to treat the male medically, Avila assaulted the police officer.

The officer was not seriously injured and did not require medical attention. Davila is facing several charges including criminal impersonation and assault on a police officer. He is now being held on a $50,000 bond.
