Rwanda genocide survivor Daniel Trust tells his amazing story

(WTNH)–26-year-old Daniel Trust has seen a lot of tragedy in his young life. From Rwanda, he witnessed the genocide in his country, as some 800,000 people were killed. He lost much of his family in that war.

Trust found himself in Bridgeport with an older sister at age 15. He learned English quickly at Bassick High School, and graduated from Southern Connecticut State with honors.

Now a motivational speaker, Trust lives to help others, and has established the Daniel Trust Foundation, which sends kids to college who may not otherwise have had the chance.
