No injuries after boat takes on water in Branford

BRANFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– The U.S. Coast Guard was called in to assist with a possible water rescue after reports of a sinking boat in Long Island Sound off of Branford late Thursday morning.

Police said the 18-foot vessel took on water near the Farm River. There are two people on board the boat at the time, according to officers.

News 8 spoke with Coast Guard officials at the scene, who told us that no one was injured, and there was no damage to the boat.

Officials gave the “all clear” by 12:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
