Motorcyclist injured in New London accident

NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTNH) — A motorcyclist was thrown from her bike in an accident in New London on Thursday afternoon.

Police say the motorcyclist, traveling south on Bank Street, collided with a minivan leaving a parking lot at 939 Bank Street and was thrown 30 feet from the point of the crash. They say she was taken to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital for a foot injury and possible head trauma, then transferred to Yale-New Haven Hospital. Her identity has not been released and her condition is not known.

According to authorities, Bank Street was closed between Carroll Court and Beckwith Street while officers investigated the accident. The road has been reopened.

No charges have been filed in connection with the crash.
