Person hit by car, suffered life threatening injuries

STAMFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A 39-year-old is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car along West Main Street in Stamford on Wednesday evening.

According to police, it happened around 8:30 p.m. in the area of Diaz Street. A 1995 Toyota Camry was being driven by a 46-year-old when he hit the victim who was crossing West Main Street.

Stamford police are not releasing the names of anyone involved at this time. The victim was taken to the Stamford Hospital Critical Care Unit and is currently in critical condition. The driver of the car was not injured.

Police are investigating what happened. Any possible witnesses are asked to contact the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad at (203) 977-4712.
